2025 USA Powerlifting Alabama State Championships (AL-2025-01)

 $500 TSS Gift Certificates will be awarded to the female & male best lifters.

I. Description:

The 2025 USAPL Alabama State Championships is open to all USAPL members in Alabama.  Out of state lifters can sign up as guest lifters beginning November 1st if spots are still available.

II. Requirements:
- Must have a non-expired USAPL membership on meet date (2025 year shows on card). If you need to get/renew your USAPL membership, you can still register for the meet now, and purchase the membership on November 1st, 2024 so that it covers 2025 as well.
- For placing in your division & weight class, you must be an Alabama resident*, meaning the address shown on your USAPL membership card must be an Alabama address. You can still compete if you're from out-of-state, see Out-of-state section below. 
- All lifters must have been drug-free for the past thirty-six (36) months.
- No qualifying total needed for this meet.

III. General info:

When: February 1st, 2025

Where: Iron Empire Barbell Club, Irondale, AL (new location)

290 Ruffner Rd, Irondale, AL 35210

This will be a one-platform, one-day meet with two sessions total.

This meet can be used to:

- Qualify for any Nationals including 2025 Raw Nationals (since this is State Championships).

- Break American Records.  Record database

 

IV. Registration Timeline (meet shirt not included):

Early Bird Registration deadline: Nov 1, 2024 - $105

Regular Registration deadline: December 31, 2025 - $130

Late Registration: from 01/01 to 01/25 - $155

Additional division: $25

V. Meet Schedule (tentative): This will be a two-session, one-platform meet.

- Weigh-in on 02/01, Session* 1: 7:30AM - 9:00AM / Session* 2: 1PM - 2:30PM

- Lifting starts at 9:30AM for Session 1, 3PM for Session 2.

*Sessions are breakdown based on gender, weight class & amount of lifters signed up.

 

VI. Out-of-state (non-Alabama resident)

Since this is the Alabama State Championships, Out-of-State lifters are welcomed but will be assigned under Guest Lifter Division. See the screenshot from USAPL Rulebook below for more info:

* Guest lifters are not eligible for awards within age divisions. 

* Guest lifters may set state and American records and may earn a qualifying total for a national meet.

* Guest lifters are subject to all normal rules of competition and must meet the same qualifying criteria to enter the meet.

* We will have awards for Guest Lifters based on DOTS points.

(If you are currently residing in Alabama but still have an out-of-state address on your USAPL card, if you want, you can change it to your AL address on the USAPL Membership website, to avoid competing as a Guest Lifter. Once changed, please let us know)

VII. Changes after signing up:

For any meet change request including weight class, division, team name, etc.. Any division(s) add or changes or add won’t be accepted within 2 weeks out from the date of the meet.
