Location: The Mesquite Convention Center (1700 Rodeo Dr, Mesquite, TX 75149)

General meet info email will be sending out around 1.5-month out to lifters who signed up.

I. Descriptions:

  • The 2025 USAPL Youth & High School Open is a local meet that is open to youth & High School powerlifters.
  • Youth (Y): The following youth divisions are recognized: • Youth 1 (Y1): From the day the lifter turns 8 to the day before they turn 10  • Youth 2 (Y2): From the day the lifter turns 10 to the day before they turn 12  • Youth 3 (Y3): From the day the lifter turns 12 to the day before they turn 14 .
  • Eligible High School  lifters must, at a minimum, be in the 9th grade. There is no minimum age as long as the lifter is, at a minimum, in the 9th grade.

- This will be a one-day meet with one platform, two sessions, AM & PM. Tentative schedule shown below.

II. Requirements:

- Must have a non-expired USAPL membership (2025 shown on card). 
- All lifters must have been drug-free for the past thirty-six (36) months.
- No qualifying total needed for this meet.
- Lifting Attire: All competitors must wear a one piece lifting suit or a wrestling singlet, shoes and a T-Shirt, deadlift socks for deadlift. All equipment must conform to USA Powerlifting rules. See www.USAPowerlifting.com for details.
- "TEAM": Any group of lifters competing as a team at any level of competition must be a team/club officially registered with USA Powerlifting. This mean if you're not in a USAPL registered Team/Club, please do not put anything under "TEAM". Only exceptions are the High School's name.

Note: Raw-with-wraps division is for those who wear KNEE WRAPS to Squat.
Raw division includes wearing knee sleeves, wrist wraps, non-compresed singlet.

III. Tentative Schedule:

There is no Early Equipment check or Weigh-in.

Meet day:

- Session 1: Regular Check-in with Equipment Check: 7AM. (USAPL ID AND Photo ID* are required. Show referees everything you're wearing on the platform)

Weigh-in: 7:30, to no later than 9:00AM (no exception). (openers & rack height are required before you go weigh-in)

Lifting starts at 9:30AM, ends around 1:00PM. 

Awards to follow.

- Session 2: Regular Check-in with Equipment Check: 12:30AM. (USAPL ID AND Photo ID* are required. Show referees everything you're wearing on the platform)

Weigh-in: 1PM, to no later than 2:30PM (no exception). (openers & rack height are required before you go weigh-in)

Lifting starts at 3PM, ends around 7:00PM. 

Awards to follow.

* FOR YOUTH & HIGH SCHOOL, PLEASE PRESENT EITHER BIRTH CERTIFICATE, PASSPORT OR SCHOOL ID.

IV. Registration Timeline (meet shirt not included):

       Early Bird Registration: $100 (Deadline - March 31)

       Regular Registration: $125 (April 1 - June 26)

       Late Registration: $150 (after June 26 if spots still available) 

 

IV. Changes after signing up:

For any meet change request including weight class, division, team name, etc.. Any division(s) add or changes or add won’t be accepted within 2 weeks out from the date of the meet.
